We are participating in Clemson’s Agricultural Services Farm Fresh Market, which takes place Wednesday afternoons through the month of April. We hope you will enjoy picking up your Clemson Locally Grown orders from the market this month, and maybe you’ll meet a few new growers at the same time! MEET US THERE: Call Donna 864-353-6096 to be guided in by a student. Donna’s comment: "I an thrilled to be on campus at Clemson U and talk to the students there! They are so enthused with life! Many of the students that stopped by are very interested in Sustainable agriculture; in fact, two who stopped by have been to Putney Farm already this spring for a tour as part of a class they have. More to come from this, and we will keep you posted about where you can see this online.
While you are there at Cox Plaza, stop by the other booths to get a preview of what you may see at other farmers markets around Clemson when they open. The booth next to me was interesting. The lady makes all kinds of sewn and hand crafted items. There was goat milk, Jalepeno poppers, personal care items, and the cutest green Tshirts that say “Eat your Vegetables” on the back. Get one of these from the Farm Fresh Market booth fro only $10.00.
What You Might See in Your CSA this Week: *Greens *are in transition from winter to spring, so, while there aren’t a vast array, they are still very fresh, tender, and delicious! So, greens like kale, green garlic or green onions, either beef or Chicken, eggs, fresh herbs like bee balm, Lemon Balm, and mint, flowers, and a chunk of cheese. It will exceed the value of only $25. Order and get the best of the spring offerings!
As always, we at CLG are pleased to offer you plenty of fresh, local proteins and produce, as well as eggs from Putney Farm, Happy Cow milk products, Swamp Rabbit baked goods, and much, much more. All of our proteins are free-ranged, and never any hormones given. Our veggies are raised without chemicals, too! And they are picked within hours of you getting them! How fresh is that?
Have your ordered greens from Spurgeon Farms lately? Not only are these fresh collards and kale tender and delicious, they are chopped and packaged in a gallon bag. That means all you have to do is rinse and cook. Better than the grocery store on every level! Click on vegetables for this and other great winter produce offerings.
We thank you for registering at Clemson Locally Grown Please encourage your friends, family, and co-workers to join you.
Clemson Locally Grown donates 3 percent of our order sales right off the top to Clemson Montessori School, in return for use of their school parking lot as a drop-off location. We also appreciate the helpful hands of CMS market volunteers. Feel free to lend your hands, if you have a moment to do so.
