An unusual cafe which caters to local producers and cooks with their products. Located on the Swamp Rabbit Bike trail, Swamp Rabbit Cafe has become a popular stop for bikers and local residents as well.
In an area so rich in local farms, local food enthusiasts, and cyclists, owners Jac and Mary sought to provide convenient access to local, fresh, and healthy foods. The Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery is now here to offer the freshest picks of local farmers and producers along with the convenience of a neighborhood grocery store. Fill your kitchen with our local meats, cheeses, produce, freshly-baked goods, and dairy products, and stock up on our other sustainably-sourced goods from farther afield. Satisfy your sweet tooth with some ice cream or a treat from our cafe, where our sweeteners are chosen responsibly and used sparingly. Stop in for a quick breakfast and coffee on your way to work. With the goal to ultimately source half of our goods from local producers, at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery you’ll feel good knowing where your food comes from!
Jac and Mary couldn’t have found a better location for this idea. The Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery sits along the Swamp Rabbit Trail and Cedar Lane Rd., about two miles west of downtown Greenville and in the middle of a food desert; here, they are filling a large void in the immediate community they serve. Before starting this new venture, Mary could often be seen riding through town commuting to and from work with a basket loaded with groceries and errands, while Jac was working to protect precious working family farmlands throughout the region. The Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery is the result of a passion for good food and all things local. Come visit us!
