Market News

WELCOME CLEMSON USLG CUSTOMERS

THE MARKET IS OPEN FOR ORDERING! NEW PICKUP DATE, TIME, AND LOCATION FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL! JOIN US AT THE CLEMSON FARM FRESH MARKET

Order today for pickup between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Clemson University Farm Fresh Market, located in front of the Student Union in Cox Plaza.

We are participating in Clemson’s Agricultural Services Farm Fresh Market, which takes place Wednesday afternoons through the month of April. We hope you will enjoy picking up your Clemson Locally Grown orders from the market this month, and maybe you’ll meet a few new growers at the same time!

As always, we at CLG are pleased to offer you plenty of fresh, local proteins and produce, as well as eggs from Putney Farm, Happy Cow milk products, Swamp Rabbit baked goods, and much, much more.

Have your ordered greens from Spurgeon Farms lately? Not only are these fresh collards and kale tender and delicious, they are chopped and packaged in a gallon bag. That means all you have to do is rinse and cook. Better than the grocery store on every level! Click on vegetables for this and other great winter produce offerings.

We thank you for registering at Clemson Locally Grown Please encourage your friends, family, and co-workers to join you.

Clemson Locally Grown donates 3 percent of our order profits to Clemson Montessori School, in return for use of their school parking lot as a drop-off location. We also appreciate the helpful hands of CMS market volunteers. Feel free to lend your hands, if you have a moment to do so.

Donna’s Corner

Friend and local food lover Jess O’Neal Bayne made me aware of this upcoming event, and I wanted to share it with you. There is an event happening May 25 in Greenville and many other places all around the world actually. It is called March on Monsanto. This is a march and rally in response to the “Monsanto Protection Act,” recently signed by President Obama as a part of HR 933.

If you value the quality of your food and reject genetically engineered crops, I encourage you to lend your support to this event.
